Mission
The AEGIS Initiative exists to establish governance-first security as the foundational standard for autonomous AI systems. We develop enforceable governance frameworks, publish open specifications, and engage with policymakers and standards bodies to ensure that AI capability is always bounded by constitutional constraint.
AEGIS is not anti-AI. AEGIS is pro-governance. We believe the path to trustworthy AI runs through deterministic enforcement, transparent audit trails, and human oversight that cannot be bypassed by the systems it governs.
Current Focus
- Publishing the AEGIS Constitution — a versioned, citeable governance charter for AI systems
- Engaging with NIST on AI safety standards and submitting formal public comments
- Developing policy positions on emerging AI governance frameworks
- Building open-source reference implementations of constitutional enforcement
